POCKO PARK NOWHERE
일본 아티스트 및 브랜드와의 긴밀한 협업을 이어온 Pocko가 또 하나의 새로운 챕터, Pocko Japan의 출범을 알린다. 동양과 서양, 두 문화의 결을 잇는 창의적인 다리. 그 연결이 바로 Pocko Japan의 시작점이었다.
일본은 현재 ‘아름다운 조화’를 뜻하는 새로운 레이와(Reiwa) 시대를 지나고 있다. 그리고 문화적 교류를 통해 피어나는 크리에이티브 파트너십만큼 이 시대정신을 잘 담아내는 풍경도 드물다는 것.
Pocko는 Japan의 출범을 기념하며, Tokyo의 Park Hotel과 함께 전시 시리즈를 선보인다. 그 시작을 여는 ‘Pocko Park: NowHere’에서는 일본 일러스트레이터 Nomoco와 독일 출신 포토그래퍼 Martin Holtkamp의 작업이 나란히 놓일예정이다. 서로 다른 배경을 가진 두 아티스트의 시선이 ‘지금, 여기’에서 자연스러운 균형을 이루며, 시각 언어로 조화를 그려낸다.
After many years of working with Japanese artists and brands, we are proud to announce our latest adventure, Pocko Japan. Pocko Japan was born out of a desire to expand creative connections through bridging two contrasting cultures: East & West.
Japan is entering its new Imperial era Reiwa, which translates as ‘beautiful harmony’. And nothing captures the spirit of Pocko Japan more than creative partnerships blossoming through cultural exchange.
In celebration of the launch of Pocko Japan, we have been commissioned by the glorious Park Hotel Tokyo for a series of exhibitions, starting with Pocko Park NowHere. In the first of Pocko Park’s exhibition series, NowHere marries the works of Japanese illustrator, Nomoco with German-born photographer, Martin Holtkamp in a harmonious artistic partnership.
Nomoco와 Martin의 협업 작품은 서로의 결을 자연스럽게 살리며, 각자의 미감과 문화적 배경에 새로운 숨을 불어넣는다.

계절이 바뀌는 순간엔 늘 시작과 끝이 나란히 선다. 어디에서 보느냐에 따라, 봄은 새로운 생명의 시작이자, 삶의 찰나성을 일깨우는 계절이 되기도 한다.
Martin Holtkamp의 정제된 구도와 명료한 시선이 Nomoco의 유려하고 유쾌한 추상 회화와 만나는 지점, NowHere는 서로 다른 두 개의 현실이 동등한 힘으로 충돌하며 만들어내는 풍경이다. 변화무쌍한 세계 안에서, 덧없음과 영원함이 동시에 존재하는 순간들.
두 아티스트의 협업은 각자의 미학과 문화적 언어에 새로운 생기를 불어넣는다. 서로를 보완하면서도 독립적인 결을 유지한 채, 하나의 장면을 함께 만들어낸다.
전시 타이틀인 NowHere는 보는 각도에 따라 전혀 다른 의미로 읽힌다. 지금, 여기. 혹은, 아무 데도 아닌 곳. 이중적인 해석은 계절의 흐름처럼 유동적이고, 두 작가의 작업 속에도 고스란히 녹아 있다. 서로 다른 감각이 교차하는 지점에서, 보는 이의 감각도 함께 열리기를.
In a moment of seasonal change there is a beginning and an end, depending which side we look at things. Spring brings new life and a sense of renewal as well as a reminder of how life is fleeting.
As the steely, proportioned imagery of Holtkamp’s work meets the playful, abstraction of Nomoco’s paintings, NowHeresees two realities meet with equal force in ever-changing environments, both fragile and eternal.
Their collaborative pieces compliment each other, giving new life to their craft and cultural influences.
The title of the show in the same way has a double meaning depending how you read it: Now Here Or Nowhere. This contraposition is not only seasonal and philosophical but can also be seen in the work of the two artists on display and in the dialogue between them.
