아디다스가 남성 중심 시선이 지배적인 업계에서 여성 크리에이터들에게 “당당하고 대담하라”는 메시지를 전해온 방식에 영감을 받아, 미켈라 피키(Michela Picchi)는 이번 Adidas Originals Falcon 글로벌 런칭을 위한 눈부신 빌보드를 제작했다. 매서운 눈빛을 지닌 여성들로 이루어진 ‘팔콘 갱(Falcon Gang)’과 이들을 따라오는 매 한 마리. 그 강렬한 이미지는, 그 자체로 하나의 선언문처럼 다가온다.

브랜드 앰배서더인 카일리 제너(Kylie Jenner)도 이 프로젝트를 함께 축하했다. 예상치 못한 팝업 장소였던 웨스트 할리우드의 한 오래된 주유소는, 90년대 감성이 물씬 풍기는 공간으로 탈바꿈했다. 매대 안에는 신발이 진열되고, 주유 펌프에는 형형색색 네온과 퍼플 팔콘 로고가 더해졌다. 정비소는 크리에이터 스테이션으로 재해석됐고, 편의점은 팝업 스토어가 되었다.

카일리는 반짝이는 미니 드레스를 입고 여러 구역에서 포토타임을 가졌고, 한켠 뉴스스탠드엔 그녀가 커버를 장식한 매거진이 등장—그 안엔 미켈라를 포함한 여성 크리에이터들의 이야기가 담겼다. POCKO의 마르코 오지안(Marco Oggian)과 비주 카르만(Bijou Karman)도 현장에 함께하며 그 순간을 빛냈다. 미켈라와 함께할 수 있어서 더없이 자랑스러웠던 밤.

Inspired by the Adidas approach of empowering female creators to be bold and confident in an industry dominated by the male gaze, Michela Picchi has created a stunning billboard for the global launch of the Adidas Originals, Falcon shoe. A strong image of a “Falcon” gang of empowered looking women, accompanied of course by a falcon. Brand ambassador, Kylie Jenner celebrated alongside a beautiful crowd at an unexpected pop-up destination in West Hollywood, California. The venue, a former gas station on the iconic Sunset Boulevard, was repurposed to reflect elements of the 90s that influenced the all-new women’s exclusive sneaker.

The space revealed the Falcon housed in gas pumps and a convenience store that doubled as a retail shop with a renovated mechanics’ garage turned creators’ station. Jenner, wearing a shiny, checked mini dress, posed for photo ops at different stations and gas pumps adorned with neon lights and purple Adidas Falcon logos. At a newsstand limited edition magazine with Kylie on the cover and female creators between the pages, including our Michela, who was joined at the launch by Pocko’s Marco Oggian and Bijou Karman. A beautiful night at an amazing venue overlooked by the grand, eye-catching billboard. You made us proud Michela!
