WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
지난 10년 동안 마케팅 세계는 그야말로 진화의 연속이었다. 가슴 뭉클한 감동부터 심장이 쿵쾅대는 스릴까지. YouTube는 디지털 콘텐츠가 얼마나 대단한 임팩트를 만들어낼 수 있는지 제대로 보여줬다.
바로 그런 멋진 결과들을 기념하고, 가장 창의적인 머릿속을 찬양(!)하는 어워드가 있다. 바로 YouTube Works Awards. 지난 한 해 동안 YouTube를 가장 잘 활용한 혁신적인 캠페인들을 찾아내 박수를 보내는 자리다.
그래서 AKQA Tokyo가 “What’s Your Story?” 라는 히어로 애니메이션을 준비하며 POCKO에 도움을 요청했을 때, 우리는 곧장 최고의 카드를 꺼냈다. 위트, 세련됨, 연출력까지 삼박자를 두루 갖춘 린 프리츠(Linn Fritz). 린은 이 프로젝트에 완벽하게 어울리는 아티스트였다.

The YouTube Works Awards celebrate and champion the brilliant minds producing the most innovative and effective campaigns on YouTube in the past year.
Illustration and Animation directing extraordinaire, Linn Fritz was the perfect artist for the job when AKQA Tokyo came to us to work on their animated hero video, “What’s Your Story?” which was for the YouTube Works Japan campaign.
영상 속에서 린 프리츠(Linn Fritz)와 POCKO는 현실에서 영감을 받은 광고 속 세계 ‘릴 라이프’를 통해, 우리가 일상에서 얼마나 자연스럽게 광고와 얽혀 있는지를 유쾌하게 풀어냈다.
우리가 스쳐 지나가는 광고의 순간들, 사실은 그 속에 브랜드와 크리에이티브가 서로 손을 잡고 관객에게 다가가는 방법이 숨어 있다는 것! 이번 애니메이션은 그런 광고 산업의 매력을 가볍고 톡톡 튀게 조명하며, YouTube Works Awards 출품을 유도하는 살짝 당돌한 러브콜이기도 하다.
린은 그녀 특유의 슈퍼-카와이한 캐릭터와 일러스트를 부드럽고 감각적인 애니메이션으로 완성시키기 위해 애니메이터 암 사타보른(Arm Sattavorn) 과 밀도 높은 협업을 이어갔다.
Zing Audio가 맡은 음악과 효과음까지 더해지며, 이 영상은 유쾌하고, 편안하고, 너무 오버하지도 않은 딱 좋은 밸런스를 보여준다.
YouTube Works Awards가 가진 그 ‘진짜’ 감성을 정확히 짚어낸 결과물!
For the video, Linn and Pocko were tasked with paying homage to the ad industry by showing how reel life is inspired by real life.Through the portrayal of daily interaction with ads, the animation shows how these consumer moments help inform advertisers on creative ways to reach their audiences. Ultimately acting as a call to action for brands and advertisers to submit their work for consideration.
Linn closely collaborated with animator Arm Sattavorn in order to turn her super kawaii Illustration and character design work into fluid animation with seamless transitions. The films tone along with music and SFX by Zing Audio is fun, lighthearted, down to earth and authentic, perfectly reflecting the mood for the YouTube Works awards.
